Is the new PSP-3000 broken?

Whups.

It seems that Sony have been a little bit 'fail' recently. Their 3rd version of the PSP, the PSP-3000 was supposed to fix ghosting problems and screen flaws that plagued the older models. The good news is that they fixed the ghosting problems. The bad news is all they did was replace one problem with another.

It seems the new PSP suffers from horrible scan line problems. They made the screen brighter and more responsive, but all this does is show up ugly scan lines where they shouldn't be. To put it in laymans terms, big freaking lines poke out of things when your move too quickly on screen.

As a man who has tried out more HDTV's that I would like to admit and found them all buggered in some way, this annoys me. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and this is putting me off buying a PSP-3000 - especially as Sony have said the flaws are based on design, not on malfunctions. Damn.
