New UK eSports Group


Yesterday marked the launch of the United Kingdom eSports Association (UKeSA), an official governing body for the UK's electronic sports community.

Whats interesting to note is that the one of the heads for UKeSA is Ray Mia, who has worked with UK Channel Xleague.tv as the channel head in the past.

"In its capacity as the UK's official eSports governing body, UKeSA will be working with government, industry and community to develop, support, encourage and promote the growth of a professional competitive eSports framework from an amateur grassroots level upwards,"

As a couple of us at PG have helped with Xleague in the past, it will be interesting to see what happens with this. On the Xleague forums, certain members are assuming that site maitenance on their site could result in it being changed to UKeSA. Time will tell however.
